Hey stranger,

I was just thinking of you and wondering what a google search would yield. Gods am I sorry you're having such a rough time. Where are you now? We should meet up. I've missed you. I only wish there was more I could do.

As for me these days, I almost feel guilty saying it. I'm happy and healthy. My life is a great adventure, and lately, it's been a wonderfully crazy trip. You know that's how I've always wanted it. I graduated Columbia (yay!), gave up on Social Work School, when I saw the insanity of the system on the provider end too, and now have one of the most interesting jobs imaginable--and it's gettin' to be lucrative.

Get in touch with me, if you want. I'd love to see you. I hope it's not too late for that.

Hi Zealot,

I've been exploring the availability of Panayiotopoulos' book "The Epilepsies" (2005). The National Institutes of Health has much of it available now, with an active Table of Contents and many active footnotes and tables. I don't think a person has to be signed in to view at the NCBI (my cookies might be signing me in on auto), so please tell me if it's easily available by general public access at:

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK2605/#top

I've been listing snippet links through books dot-google, but things like the Table for some differential elements between occipital epilepsy and migraines are in whole through the NCBI, so does the link work?: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK2605/table/ch12.t3/?report=objectonly

I got my Keppra refill in less than 5 minutes this time, and I didn't get soaked by rain either, so my luck might be getting better. My latest batch of clusters have left me being easily distractible, and I've been getting lost in, or losing, my own postings before making much headway.

Lots of Love,

Tadzio

Marianne,

I'm so happy to hear from you. Congrats on your graduation. I'm really glad that you are doing well. I only wish that I could say the same.

I think you made a wise decision to avoid social work. Not only is the pay abysmal, the system is thoroughly corrupt. I am far from the only person who has fared so badly. I wish that weren't true.

I'm trying hard to get my life together, but it's really difficult because I am so sick. I need good doctors, but I don't know where to find them. I know that Jefferson is definitely not the place. Now I just have to figure out what is.

I'll give you a call or you can call me. Thanks for thinking of me and even more thanks for leaving the comment. I look forward to speaking to you soon.

Tadzio,

It's great to hear from you. I always get concerned when you don't post for awhile. I know that means that you're having a hard time.

I'm really glad that you got your Keppra without any trouble. Maybe luck is going your way. It's about time. You deserve it.

The links are live and work for me. The more I read about epilepsy and other disorders that can look like epilepsy, the more I realize that I have epilepsy, plus some of the other disorders. I've been suspecting for some time that I have occipital lobe seizures and have had since I was a child. The description of "many colored circular patterns" definitely rings a bell. There are lots of many colored circular patterns in my images of my auras.

I also get migraines and migraine auras. They look quite different from my seizure auras although I think I have gotten them together sometimes. It gets hard to tell because the seizures screw up my awareness and my memory.

I'm also having trouble putting stuff together. I can't tell you how many blog posts I've abandoned because I've just lost my train of thought. I feel really scatter brained and, in fact, someone left a comment remarking on my "scattered" style. I guess it's kind of obvious.

Oh well. Be well.
