Joana,

Scary isn't it. These people get around. Michael Hogan left Ohio and inflicted himself on New York. New York is not a better place for it.

Hi Zealot,

Spring's here with the first hot spell this weekend, with temps in the 90's. I think I made it thru another long, cold, and, this time, near dry winter. I'm still with the Catch-22 of Medicaid and Keppra, with all local pharmacies refusing to promptly refill my Keppra prescription last month because they would lose more than $50 on each refill under California Medicaid. Then, if my new doctor carries out his threat, I will only have 3 more months of prescriptions left for Keppra. Epilepsy is too expensive to be tolerated by Medicaid service providers.

Along with the one pro-ALEC website I indirectly mentioned on Facebook, the websites I was firstly banned on turned out to be very pro-gun and/or racist once past the intial veneer, and, so far, the last website I was banned on was the one with the direct & secondary links to the pro-gun/racist websites. On the balance: http://www.republicreport.org/2012/after-complaining-about-being-silenced-alec-is-deleting-critical-comments-from-facebook-page/

I wonder if the new mid-March 2012 ADA website guidelines http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/webmaster/creating-an-ada-compliant-website/1425 (which seemingly now also covers larger non-profit websites) has expanded the ADA enough to over-ride cases like "Young versus Facebook" http://www.forbes.com/sites/kashmirhill/2010/09/01/maryland-woman-sues-after-being-banned-by-facebook/
To top this off, the last website to ban me was one designed for many ADA covered individuals, including persons with "other" neurological differences: WrongPlanet.net
When I received messages from the site's moderators that they found my mentioning epilepsy annoying and offensive to people expressing their (moderator's viewed as) "metaphorical" and/or hypothetical expressions of clubbing and shooting people, I expressed my disagreement of such being so purely metaphorical as to preclude my making any mild expressions counter to such vivid expressions. I'm having typing/English problems now, so I'll post parts of my e-mail where the moderators told me to go to "soap-box" the website's founder/owner:
Hi Alex,

Please advise me of the discrimination/retaliation complaint resolution processes WrongPlanet.net has available as to
USA federal laws, and as to State of California laws.

Details: I sent a private message to a WP Moderator on Sun Apr 15, 2012 3:23 am (in reference to no USA WP Moderators available to accept my informal
complaint of discrimination & retaliation under the USA ADA, etc.):
"Do you know WrongPlanet's official U.S. postal mailing address? I tried to find it from listings, and I experienced a very unpleasant deja vu
involving Orange County, California. My relatives, in ignorance of my WP relationship (to my knowledge), "miraculously" knew of ***47's, and
others', postings, and are now expressing concern for dangers of threats to my well being, "words" that WP seems to continue to regard as mere
"metaphors". http://www.wrongplanet.net/postp4519527.html#4519527 Also, did, or has, anyone with WrongPlanet try to make, or made, contact
with, any of my relatives without my permission, which I have never given to WrongPlanet???? Tadzio"

I made two forum postings prior:

One to remind a poster of my previous request "To Tone It Down" about using firearms:
http://www.wrongplanet.net/postp4451874.html#4451874
after an epileptic deja vu: "2nd Most Unpleasant Deja Vu"
http://www.wrongplanet.net/postp4556812.html#4556812

And, a response in a newer thread "What is your own personal philosophy regarding life?"
http://www.wrongplanet.net/postp4557246.html&highlight=#4557246

These two were only posts after my receiving the WP Moderator's response of there being no active Moderators in the USA.

The following afternoon, I received an e-mail telling me "You have been banned from WrongPlanet", with notice of "I will
not enter into any further correspondence with you over this matter".

I believe this new action is also prohibited retaliation for my attempts to actualize my rights under the American With Disabilities Action,
and is also further prohibited discrimination based upon my disabling impairments (and associated religious beliefs).

Please advise me of the discrimination/retaliation complaint resolution processes WrongPlanet.net has available as to
USA federal laws, and as to State of California laws."

The deja vu of no e-mail response is coming true too...., after the much more unpleasant coincidences.

I tried to give my opinion on telling others closer than anonymously about intense deja vu & premonitions, but I think I posted it in a discussion about post-ictal recovery (instead of the TLE premonition discussion) in response to Sparker001's posting at:
http://www.epilepsy.com/discussion/998151#comment-1051527

http://www.epilepsy.com/discussion/997929

My new doctor didn't like me reading a book while waiting for him to appear, but at least the weather was very nice that Spring day.

Tadzio,

It's so great to hear from you again. I get worried when you disappear. I really miss our correspondence.

I'm sorry that your longer comments didn't post. Did you get an error message? If you can give me more info, maybe I can open a ticket.

Have you been able to post on epilepsy-dot-com? If you can, leave me a comment on my forum there. I would love to hear from you.

Tadzio,

I found your attempts to post in my spam folder. I have to complain to the "powers that be" about the spam filter here. They allow you to insert links, but if you do, you get dumped into the spam folder. At least I can "unspam" them.

Those ADA rules for websites are interesting. Now I know what the "alt" field is for. I had no idea. I've been populating it, but I haven't been including the link information. I have to figure out how to do that. Epilepsy-dot-com have been out of compliance many times. I seem to remember some ads on their site that gave me a problem with blinky-blinkies.

I noticed that Sparker is still posting. I should take a look at my old haunt. It's just so annoying now because the site is now wider than my browser window, yet I get no scroll bar so I lose the last couple of characters on the right side of the screen. So much for "new and improved."

That Wrong Planet forum is just wrong. I stay away from those things. I don't like them and I don't really understand them. I don't want to figure them out. I can't see anything offensive in your posts, although some of the others are beyond the pale. I don't know on what planet it's not OK to talk about déjà vu, but it is OK to talk about picking people off with a long range rifle until the cops come and get you. Oh wait, I know. A wrong planet. That's why you got kicked off and they didn't. They were wrong and you were right.

ALEC can whine all they like. I am so pleased that they are feeling beleaguered. It couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of people. They are finally getting what they so richly deserve. I am signing every petition against ALEC and boycotting every company that is still an ALEC member.

What's with your doctor and you reading books? Are epileptics supposed to be illiterate? I really hope that you can get what you need.

I'm ready for a new doctor myself. I think I've been having nocturnal TCs and I told my doctor that I had bitten my tongue twice in my sleep within a time period that I no longer remember. He made a stupid clown face so I told him again. He made the stupid clown face again. He evidently has no desire to deal with my problem.

I think I had another one last night because I woke up with the covers a mess and that "I overdid it in the gym and got beat up on the way home" feeling. There's something wrong with that. I'm sick of the "permamigraine" and the other weirdnesses that go along with it. I just want to figure out what it is and make it all stop.

Enough complaining.

We had June weather in February and now it's chilly in Philly and it's almost May. We finally had some rain the last couple of days. It had been quite dry. I'm praying for a cool summer. I'm not good in the heat and I really hate triple digit utility bills.

Hi Zealot,

Last time I checked, 1-Nevermore's forum discussion entitled "I Have Epilepsy and I hate my Life.... Enough said," was edited from the 2008 version, by Epi_help, into the 2012 "I Have Epilepsy... Enough said." Some of my old posts were edited too, so I might soon get the epilepsy-dot-com "Bright-Sided" edits to my soon to be attempted posts there. The review posted by Ms. Billygoatgruff at amazon-dot-com for England's titled version of "Smile or Die" by Barbara Ehrenreich, resonates with my view of the inept and dangerous medical "professionals" currently available to me. The expressions of the more negative aspects of epilepsy should be protected by the ADA too, and even with a non-business web-site, a larger publicly/donations financed web-site should be included (at least under an extended notion of "Towards a Right under the ADA to Web Access for People with Cognitive Disabilities" at colemaninstitute-dot-org).

My current doctor is a visitor from a Baptist University in Arizona, and he must take it as an insult that any of his patients at the local clinic here display the audacity of doing any reading while waiting for him to appear for any appointment. Like what happened to me after the 1989 Loma Prieta Earthquake, where the prescription originating neurologist left with no remaining records for AED continuation, this soon then self-claimed "non-expert" doctor demands that I see an inaccessible expert neurologist for the continuing renewals of my current Keppra regimen. He then gave me an appointment to a physician's assistant 18 miles distant for any further consideration (he said his "friends" could make it on the bus in twenty minutes, but the Google Trip Planner for the bus service listed the round trip as more than 35 miles long, with 3 miles of walking, and taking three hours in time). The PA then changed the time to a time incompatible with the bus service without a six hour wait at a distant terminal in the high 90-degree plus weather. Given that my previous clinic reported me to the police for me "endangering" my health by walking 0.8 miles in hot weather (and later, Adult Protective Services for my making the walk in wet weather), I then cancelled that appointment with great bureaucratic trouble in response to my cancellation.

"The Lonesome Death of Kelly Thomas" articles/videos remind me of how further dangerous partial seizures can make self-righteous/violence-prone public officials be.

During the last few months, it has been taking me about 40 days to get each 30 day renewal of Keppra through California Medicaid, so I have about two months of non-expired Keppra left before I have to rely exclusively on sources for expired Keppra. I've already tried a very cheap source of generic version of Keppra, and for the last few weeks I've been recovering from a strong partial seizure that left the right side of my body with severe muscle strain (major bruises limited to my right arm only), and difficulty in doing much of anything without plenty of time and multiple attempts, so I hope I have better luck with slowly shifting to more further out-dated stock of brand name Keppra over the next couple of months.

Going through my paperwork for prescriptions over nearly the last six years, I've had 9 new doctors writing my AED prescriptions (some of them stay with a local clinic for only a couple months, while the longest staying one was about for two years). Maybe epilepsy is only cured on paper, with the worst doctor noting the official "non-observance" of any continuing epilepsy, or the termination of the patient.

I got a newer epilepsy book to confound myself with at about 15% retail price: "The Causes of Epilepsy: Common and Uncommon Causes in Adults and Children" by Simon D. Shorvon (2011).

The weather here is suppose to be a bit cooler, but very windy, then, next week, back into the upper 90's. Most of the trees that made in through the hard freezes (mostly dead citrus trees) have leafed out enough to protect the many flowers from the hot sunshine, but soon to be too much shade for non-spindly plants.

Lots of Love,

Tadzio

Devorah Zealot Soodak

Tadzio,

It's great to hear from you again. I can't believe the sorry excuse for what passes for medical care. Then again, I can. I think the fact that your current doctor comes from a Baptist University in Arizona says it all. Scary!

I pray that you get your Keppra. I can't believe the runaround they give you for it. I think they spend more money to try to save money than they save. It's bizarre and it's one of the reasons why we pay the most and get the least for our healthcare dollar of all the developed nations.

Epi-helpless is at it again, huh? I don't know what's up with her. She's got some serious problems. I think her censorship is reprehensible. She's the biggest reason I don't post much there anymore.

I don't know if I have epilepsy (I've been diagnosed and undiagnosed so it's pretty confusing plus there's those abnormal EEGs, the gold standard that seems not to mean anything), but I don't hate my life. I would like to know what is causing my symptoms. I would like to know why I wake up feeling like I overdid it in the gym and got beaten up on the way home. This time I wrenched my back and bit the inside of my cheek and lip. I'm debating whether I should bother telling Dr. Make-a-stupid-face. My back is just starting to feel somewhat normal again. Oh well.

We went from unseasonably warm weather to a bit cool. We got our April showers in May this year. Last May it was in the high eighties and even nineties. This year it's been highs in the 60s and maybe low seventies. I'll take it. It's nice to keep the windows open.

Something is making my asthma act up. I don't know if it's the construction the next door neighbors are doing or something the people who live on the first floor did like spray for bugs or something. I feel better with my bedroom window open, but then the neighbors smoke (cigarette and otherwise) drifts in the window plus the noise wakes me up.

My eyes and my throat are burning, too. I wish I knew what it was. I don't sleep well when it hurts to breathe and it makes me very anxious. I need to live in a place where I can breathe. I pray that this soon passes. I had a good few months for breathing. I'd like that to continue.

The trees here have been in full leave for quite some time now. They were early this year because of the unseasonably warm weather. We had a very early spring. The cherry trees were almost finished blooming by the time the festival started. South Philly has very little green. I'm pining for some outdoor space. I'm pining for a garden.

I notice you didn't try any links. Unlike our home away from home on epilepsy-dot-com, I can "unspam" your comments here, so if you want to include links and you don't see your comment post, just leave a short one and let me know and I'll publish it.

I look forward to hearing from you again soon.

Hi Zealot,

The pollen with the high temps here has been getting to me, esp. when I suddenly sneeze & the blood flow with my brittle-brain syndrome floors me for a few minutes. At least my sore muscleson my right side have let up, but with my arm still sore around the bruise still enlarging. All of the bright primroses bursting into bloom makes up for all the annoying pollens in the air though (might be an ice cold thunder storm tonight by latest weather report!!!).

Seeming connections with WrongPlanet-dot-net are still giving me trouble, as despite my being officially "banned", their address is now spamming to my e-mail, and in trying to stop it, I got the "bogus" virus warning that other members previously reported. Somebody had already cleaned out the still accesible parts of my account there, so I inserted another e-mail account that already has a couple thousand spam e-mails to maybe stem the flow away from the e-mail I still use with epilepsy-dot-com, and I changed my location to "Banned-4-Epilepsy, California" from just "Northern California" with a different picture moniker. They also blocked off the egregious account site messages the "Moderators" had posted previously to my account, but I still have screen-clippings of most of them to refresh my memory.

To think that mentioning my having temporal lobe epilepsy and the Geschwind Syndrome, with at least, for me, having overlapping criteria elements with Asperger's Syndrome (some sources list a 40% likelihood of some types of epilepsy co-morbid with autism, to a low of 4% by contrary sources), led to the statement, and someone delivering it to my relatives and a few of my old Draculas, of a site member and the site's Moderators/operator affirming their prejudicial views:"I did actually look up your claimed disorder you know, Geschwind syndrome. It explains the rambling and some of the personality flaws, especially cirumstantiality and hyper-religiosity/hyper-morality, but the rest is all you. As a rule I don't like to club baby seals, it's unseemly and tiring on the wrists, but if you insist on nipping at my heels all the time I might just indulge you. In plain English: Keep insulting me personally and I will return the favor." The only excuse cited was "metaphor" and the site's week earlier claim for the Moderators' permission for the sincerity of the wrist-tired member's practice of "Also, I can change reality with my words; it's called persuasion, lobbying and activism. Here though, I'm just having fun."The only Moderator in the USA quit, with the Moderators in England, Canada, and France remaining (strangely also continuing to make remarks about the site's operator in California starting new spam routine trials).

Since Romney's biz tactics have been more aptly labeled now, I guess a phrase for an "Ayn Rand Dracula" would likely be an apt label for my Uncle GodBucks. I think I posted a couple years ago of my interrogation during "adminstrative remedies" when I was confined in a utility room under the stairwell in the IRS office building in downtown San Jose, California (the "Golden" Market Post Tower) in the late 80's. Well, I just got a nice notice involving them and their American Gestapo tactics, and another letter advising me I could immediately lose the Medicaid coverage I presently have. This makes six different entities threatening to stop my access to Keppra in the last few months, and Mary Baker Eddy is beginning to look very enlightened & promising again (more so than any task of rewriting under duress the Aeneid as the biography of Uncle GodBucks (an American Taj Mahal is not enough)).

Would a futuristic modern versioned Taj Mahal on the Moon possibly be enough??? With the top 1% wanting their recreational space trips, and tough economics no longer limiting honors to half-ash, or even full-ash, forever orbits, maybe Luxury Mausoleums on the Moon is the Golden Answer for the final folly of the Wealthy!!! (The previous answer could be changed to "Green Cheese is buried in Grant's Cenotaph Tomb near Wal-Mart's visible from earth Happy-Face Monument on the Moon" (which Lunar Happy-Face tilt would be best for Earthling effective/profitable view?).

If I can find a pair of Joseph Smith's glasses, maybe I can plagiarize the paper version of "Mommy Dearest" metaphorized as "Sweet Uncle Dearest" inscribed into Solid Gold Tablets. With enough Marketing, who needs a curtain???

My tawdry gold-foiled 50th anniversary limited edition Etch-A-Sketch might have just ruptured, so I have to be on watch now for plastic pellets and aluminum dust erasing more than any trace, and end my rant with my expressions of hope for the local Pomegranates blooming heavily & beautifully soon.

Lots of Love,

Tadzio

Devorah Zealot Soodak

Tadzio,

It's great to hear from you. There's been lots of pollen blowing in the wind in Philly, too. I've been sniffling, sneezing, and wheezing, but the allergist assured me that it isn't allergies. It isn't a cold so I have no idea what it is and the doctors can't be bothered to say. I've been told to take antihistamines, but no one will test my histamine levels. If it's not allergies and my histamine levels aren't elevated, why should I take the damn pills? Just to waste money and have side effects?

We had some lovely thunderstorms last night. I watched a nice lightning show out my bedroom window last night. The cool breezes were lovely. It's warm and muggy today, but it's supposed to cool off tonight. That's OK in my book. Last May was brutally hot. This year we're getting off easy (so far).

What's with your email server that you can't mark the errant messages as spam or set up a filter to block that sender? The spam filter on Yahoo! mail is terrible, but you can set up custom filters. I haven't looked at Gmail to see if it has that capability, but the Gmail spam filter is very good.

I don't know why you bother with that Wrong Planet thing. Those people are just awful. I wouldn't give them the time of day. They claim to be inclusive, but they seem to be anything but. Their opening page is inviting, but those fora are anything but. Having been diagnosed with ADHD (does that mean anything?), I "qualify" to post there. I will decline the opportunity.

How can you lose your Medicaid coverage? Is that a "Show up for your interrogation or we'll cut you off" ultimatum? I can't believe what these people put you through. All that effort and all those hours (at taxpayer expense) just to deny you the care to which you are legally entitled. There ought to be a law...

What's with Ayn Rand followers and Dracula anyway. That Marianne Grossman woman is a character. It seems that Ayn Rand collected quite a following of psychopaths and charlatans. That's no surprise, considering that she was one, herself. I'm thinking that maybe Ayn Rand's Dracula sleeps in Grant's tomb, which being a cenotaph, means that no occupant has to be evicted.

Newt Gingrich ran out of money and SpaceX are having trouble getting their first ship off the ground. Let's see if they manage to get it up this time. They've promised lift-off before. Maybe they need to ask Bob Dole for some Viagra.

I wonder if Donald Trump is interested in building a casino on the moon. Then he could go bankrupt again using other people's money. A Taj Mahal on the moon mightn't be such a terrible thing. There's no surrounding community that will suffer for it.

I went looking for Uncle GodBucks. When I ran the search, you were hits one, two and three. It seems that the wrong folks on wrong planet have not obliterated all traces of your existence.

I think you'll have a hard time replacing that gold 50th anniversary limited edition Etch-A-Sketch. You can by a 100th anniversary edition Etch-A-Sketch (that's the 100th anniversary of the Ohio Art Company, not the device) for a mere $29.95. $12.00 will get you a Holiday Inn boxed 2003 Etch-A-Sketch on eBay. You'd better hurry before it's gone.

I miss your links! You always find such interesting things. Don't let the spam filter here stop you. Just write a short comment to let me know that you left the long one and I'll retrieve it from oblivion.

Enjoy the pomegranates. Enjoy the weather before it gets too hot. Summer is migraine misery for me. I'm praying for cool weather.

Hi Zealot,

With the spam filters & settings I tried, they blocked off some of the spam, but also blocked off enough of what I still wanted, that I still had to wade through the blocked spam to catch the few exceptions. I didn't accomplish much, so I try to spot the exceptions every couple days, letting most of the rest pile-up, so if I get notice I missed something later important, it's still there for the moderately thinned search for a month or so. I've been averaging around 5,000 e-mails for all accounts before I dump them down to 2,000 for a new cycle (even recent important ones still sporadically vanish, either from the source address changing too much, mistakes, or data bank gliches).

The Gold Etch-a-Sketch matches the decor of the "Market Post Tower" in San Jose, California, where I was held & interrogated in a utility closet under an IRS stairwell in the late 1980's:
http://seankane.wordpress.com/2010/05/11/trying-something-new/market-post-tower-san-jose-ca/
http://www.flickr.com/photos/dmvcomics/3195401937/
The interrogation somewhat violated the artwork spirit of the statue of "Secrets":
http://www.flickr.com/photos/danutam/2769987984/
(I just missed by time, and by $3,000, the eBay minature leg-damaged version of "Secrets" for $3,000, and too many favors would be demanded for the lesser $8,000 variation:

The phrase in the official federal letter I received included "you could lose any Medicaid you have now." The letter demanded that I provide the "original document(s) or a certified copy of these item(s)", but the letter never listed any items the documents were demanded for, until a long delayed returned message demanding documentation of an undoubtably erroneously assumed unlisted income somewhere between 2009, and the present. The only thing I can think of is an old, by now definitely lasped, life insurance policy issued back in the 1950's by a now defunct original issuing company (the copy of the policy was probably lost with many other documents in the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake, with the trail ending there for me, as the alleged subsumming corp holds the policy ID & number invalid, while issuing a statement many years ago that the amount due in payment exceeded the value of the policy, with a maximum payout of ever, of $1,000 upon death).

Some of the phrases in the letter matches phrases in:

It's easy for me to get over being banned by the Wrong Folk from the equivalent of Lester Maddox's "Little Peoples Day", and his "Pickwick Drumstick" treatment threat for epileptic potential customers, but with my TLE paranoia, I wonder if Uncle GodBucks isn't staging an intimidation, while he only then hints at "Read Dos Passos" to verify the "solidity" of his deification of the Ms. $$$$$$$$$ Goddess, Ayn Rand. After Uncle GodBucks somehow obtained my website membership info, the Wrong Folks did obliterate much of it, but with the public postings, they just edited them, added to some of them, and, with them not noting most all additions, one sentence added was repeatedly Moderator noted as added as if "restored", and as if such sanctified all the other additions (they restored from the incorrect source, as the source I was critical of included the "restorable" sentence of "Yes, we’re beating the Trayvon story to death worse than Rodney King in a baby seal costume."

What I'm most concerned about now, well after my being threatened with the ubiquitous Wrong Folks' "ban" over first my statement about the too evident "Lester Maddox Model", and over my "too snippy" suggestions to "tone down" their fantasies about sabotage and mass murder, is my getting any notice of any attempted actualization in reality of an "Implementation Stage" that should have warranted much greater alarm. Then, maybe I just inadvertantly squelched an already deadly sting operation involving a windowed "active shooter incident (ASI)" operation for further potentialized suspects:

http://exiledonline.com/the-brutal-life-of-one-l-goh-the-making-of-a-going-postal-rampage-murderer/

It had already happened at least twice for the wrong folks on their wrong website, and now I hope I don't get any notice that Goh, or anybody else, was another instance of the wrong folks delivering any abstract means of the staging for a few weeks prior. Instead of the sentence "site mods are working to make sure that those on the site did all they could have to prevent this", in practice, the wrong folks have it as "site mods are working to make sure that those on the site did all they could have to to not to avoid such", and they contact close relatives only to inhibit warning from the warning bells. Then, the Moderators asked me: "Are you actually a defenceless baby seal? Are you actually within reach of seal hunters bearing clubs?" At least I have the present moral defense of being a now banned epileptic messenger over the Dostoevskian & Geschwindic views of the subject matter of "Politics, Philosophy, and Religion": http://www.wrongplanet.net/postp4557246.html&highlight=#4557246

Again, my deja vu, and other epileptic presentiments, along with plenty of luck, saved me from Jim Jones' "Peoples Temple", but that Dracula managed to take more than 900 people along with himself, but even missing the boat with such as similar to The Titanic, such still gives long continuing post-event inauspicious sensations.

I'm in the path for the annular solar eclipse this Sunday (May 20, 2012), so if my position is most optimal, Uncle GodBucks might fly his Learjet up to see the less than Total Ecliple of the Sun just to tell me that I'm So Vain (I got the phrase from my law professor for his satirical view of Law, and his Uncle GotBucks, with mixed relatives from a Faulkner novel and/or a Tennessee Williams play, while I consider my relatives a mixed bag of Grifters, Gypsies, European Royalty, and Capitalist Pigs, with plenty of distant incest). "Dracula" seems here apt too, as Uncle's health miraculously improves as notice of his immending terminal hospice attracts greedy victims, with a few often soon experiencing their "curative" own mortality. Then, as with my other old Draculas from my more youthful Tadzio days, there's the often hostile conflict over that the usage of the phrase "rent-boy", never included "with option to buy title of ownership," despite the philosophy of Ayn Rand in the "free" marketplace and her piles of attempted, to most fully exploited, Greenspanned & planned discardarbles.

It is now the day before the eclipse (I'm getting slower & slower), and I now have a scheduled government interrogation next week about what-not, including whether if IRS "no money", but still counted "income", from different partied originating life insurances lapsing into worthlessness is still a counted asset, instead of just a loss of life insurance without any benefit and without any filing requirement because of such low income (many tax protesters still recommend filing frivilous and unrequired tax returns at any opportunity, which could be taken as a legal violation in itself).

The latest weather report has possible cloudiness interferring with the eclipse tommorrow, but next week, the temperatures are predicted to be below normal, so maybe a reprieve from the early baking spell.

Lots of Love,

Tadzio

Hi Zealot,

I posted my Golden IRS Building posing as an Etch-A-Sketch, Gold Anniversary Edition. I just read the reports about a mother "banned" from Facebook for posting pictures of her baby's anencephaly, and "the social network deleted the images. When the Walkers encouraged family and friends to contact Facebook in protest, the social network banned the mother from the site entirely, notes the Daily Mail." The "Smile or Die" doctrine for mandatory maintained happiness, as also largely noted by Barbara Ehrenreich, is still going strong on larger websites only nebulously subjected to the newer March 2012 ADA guidelines. Some reports claim that a big enough fuss was raised soon enough, that Facebook attempted to deny she was ever technically banned. Just removed, or something, for "a time".

The weather reports for here tomorrow keep changing, so a good view of the eclipse here is now more uncertain.

Lots of Love,

Tadzio

Tadzio,

That's the second story in a short period of time about a mother having photos of a handicapped child removed from Facebook. The first was a woman who posted pictures of a child with Downe's Syndrome. I think it's just awful.

I suppose some of that is the downside to what Barbara Ehrenreich talks about in her book, "Bright-sided." I just don't get what's up with the professional Pollyannism. A can-do attitude is a great thing -- if it's somewhat realistic. The downside to overreaching is falling flat on your face (or some other part of the anatomy).

I sure do hope that the weather cooperates for you. An eclipse like this one is a once in a lifetime opportunity. I've never seen a total eclipse. It's my dream to see one.

Hi Zealot,

The Sun was still fairly bright during the very brief period of the Moon centered in front of the Sun. One chart listed that a little more than 95% of the Sun was covered, but the less than 5% still wasn't as darkling as an Arizona desert dual dust & thunder storm combination. The pictures of the shadows around the max eclipse seem the most revealing, as I couldn't stop the inexpensive camera from adjusting for different levels of light across the times with pictures of the same horizon.

Did my post with links to photos of the Gold Building in San Jose, and my various rants, get through? Or, did I make too many erroneous tries with the Captu-code spam trap?

Lots of Love,

Tadzio

Tadzio,

I'm so glad you got to see the eclipse!

I rescued your long post from the oblivion of my spam folder. I don't know why they keep marking you as spam. I got comment from someone else on a different post that had links and they didn't spam that one. I'll have to open up a ticket.

I'll write you a proper reply when it isn't so late. You gave me quite a bit of reading to do. I'll get back to you when I've done it.

Tadzio,

I just finished reading your post.

I see why that building reminds you of the gold Etch-a-Sketch. I think that statue is awful. Tacky, tacky, tacky.

That insurance stuff is not to be believed. I sure hope that you haven't gotten caught up in that particular Catch-22. What a scam on both the part of the insurance companies and the Feds.

I read about William Freund. It's a pretty sad story. They should have paid attention when he complained about his meds.

That article you posted ("Behind Another Rampage Massacre" by Mark Ames) about One L. Goh is a compelling read. This paragraph really sums it up for me:

"It was only after the crash in 2008 that some Americans began to accept the obvious: That the cruelty, predation and concentration of wealth and power introduced by the Reagan Revolution sparked a new type of murder that has more in common with insurgency violence or rebellious peasant violence than, say, the psychopathology of a serial murder."

Summer seems to have settled in Philadelphia. It made it up to 86 instead of the promised 88 today. It's dropped to 72 (at around midnight), but it's still 80 in the house even with the windows wide open and the fans blowing.

I decided to order a 5000 BTU AC tomorrow (I've been saving for one). It's got an Energy Star rating (not the best, I'm afraid) and some decent features at quite a decent price. It's small enough and light enough so that I should be able to put it in myself.

I'm debating about whether I should call Dr. Make-a-Stupid-Face. I woke up around six this morning with terrible chest pain that radiated up my neck into my jaw. I don't know how long it lasted, but it started to let up and I managed to fall back asleep for a couple of hours. The inside of my mouth is all chewed up so I really don't know what's going on. I know that elongated Qt can cause seizures. My doctor in New Jersey had ordered some cardiac tests, which I never had a chance to get. Dr. Make-a-Stupid-Face seems to prefer to ignore things.
